How does the parent view work?

Once your child has a FourtyFive account, they can link a parent view to your email. You log into a separate parent dashboard that shows their weekly revision activity, topic-by-topic mastery scores across the six IB subjects, and any sudden drops the algorithm has flagged for review. You never see their individual answers — just the picture.

Is FourtyFive safe and appropriate for an IB student?

Yes. FourtyFive is built specifically for IB Diploma students (typically aged 16–19). Questions are tagged to the current IB syllabus and marked against real IB mark schemes by the AI Examiner. There are no open social features, no public profiles, and no third-party data sales.

Will my child actually use it instead of resisting another study app?

Most students engage with FourtyFive because it removes the part of revision they hate most — guessing what to study next. The personalisation algorithm tells them where to focus, the AI Examiner gives them instant feedback, and the mastery scores make progress visible. You're not pushing a study app on them; you're handing them a coach.

How much does FourtyFive cost for parents?

The parent view is included free with your child's FourtyFive account — there's no separate parent subscription. FourtyFive Free covers personalised IB revision with 50 AI-marked checks per month. Academic Weapon (Pro) raises that to 150 checks and adds AI Tutor Chat and similar-question generation, billed monthly or yearly via Stripe — yearly works out about 17% cheaper.

Is FourtyFive cheaper than hiring an IB tutor?

Yes — significantly. A single hour of in-person IB tutoring typically costs more than a full year of Academic Weapon, and that yearly plan gives your child 150 AI-marked checks every month plus AI Tutor Chat. FourtyFive doesn't replace the relationship a great human tutor builds, but it covers the daily high-frequency revision work much more affordably.

Which IB subjects does FourtyFive cover?

FourtyFive covers six IB Diploma subjects at both SL and HL: Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (Math AA), Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (Math AI), Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Economics. Every question is mapped to the current IB syllabus and marked against real IB mark schemes by the AI Examiner.

Do I need to know the IB syllabus to support my child?

No. The whole point of FourtyFive is that the personalisation algorithm and AI Examiner handle the IB-specific work — picking the right topics, marking against mark schemes, generating worked solutions. Your parent dashboard summarises everything in plain language so you can encourage your child without being an IB expert yourself.

Can my child use FourtyFive without an iPad?

Yes. They can type all their answers on a laptop or phone, handwrite on an iPad with Apple Pencil, or use the FourtyFive writing tablet — a USB stylus pad that plugs into any Mac, Windows or Chromebook laptop and costs a fraction of an iPad. Academic Weapon yearly subscribers get 50% off the writing tablet.

How quickly will I see my child's grades improve?

Most students show a measurable shift in their predicted IB grade within 3–4 weeks of consistent practice — around 20 minutes a day. Because the algorithm focuses each session on the topics with the highest mastery deficit, the time-to-impact is usually faster than open-ended revision through past papers.

Will FourtyFive replace school or my child's teacher?

No. FourtyFive is built to complement school learning, not replace it. School teaches the content; FourtyFive helps your child practise it efficiently, get IB-standard feedback at home, and arrive at lessons with a clearer picture of where they actually need help.

What about extra time or other IB exam access arrangements?

Exam mode lets students set their own time budget per paper, including extended-time configurations matching real IB extra-time arrangements. The AI Examiner marks handwritten answers as fairly as typed ones, which often helps students with handwriting differences. FourtyFive can't replace officially-granted accommodations, but the platform is built to work alongside them.

How do I get my child to actually try FourtyFive?

The lowest-friction path: set up the Free plan together, walk them through their first topic rating, and let them submit one or two answers.
