Refunds and Cancellation
Cancel any time, in two clicks, and keep what you have paid for until the end of the month. Ask within 14 days of your first payment and you get all of it back.
1. THE FREE PLAN
Free is free. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.
2. WHO YOU BUY FROM
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles the payment, the invoice and the refund, and Paddle’s name is what appears on your card statement.
FourtyFive remains responsible for the service itself. Ask us for a refund and we will arrange it with Paddle, or you can contact Paddle directly. Either way the money goes back to the card you paid with.
3. HOW TO CANCEL
Open Plan and billing in the app and follow Manage billing. That takes you to the billing portal of whoever handles your subscription, and cancelling there takes a couple of clicks.
Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep Academic Weapon until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account moves back to Free. There is no cancellation fee, and nothing you have written is deleted.
4. THE 14-DAY MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE
Ask within 14 days of your first payment and we refund it in full, wherever you are and however much you have used.
Email us from the address on your account and that is the whole process. The guarantee covers your first payment; later monthly renewals are not covered by it, which is why cancelling before a renewal is the thing to do if you are not sure.
5. YOUR STATUTORY RIGHT IN THE UK AND THE EU
If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU you also have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days of entering into it. Our guarantee above is meant to match or improve on that right.
Where the statutory right would give you more than our guarantee does, the statutory right applies. Nothing on this page takes it away.
6. IF A PAYMENT FAILS
We do not cut off your access straight away. The subscription is marked as having a payment problem and the payment is retried over the following days, and you keep Academic Weapon while that happens. We will contact you so you can update your card.
If the payment still cannot be collected at the end of that period, the subscription is cancelled and the account moves back to Free.
7. PRICE CHANGES
A price change never affects a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before it takes effect. A subscription that is already running keeps the price it was taken out at until we say otherwise.
8. HOW TO ASK
Email contact@fourtyfive.org from the address on your account and say what you would like refunded. We read every one of these ourselves.
