Refunds and Cancellation

Free is free. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.

Go to Plan and billing in the app and cancel there. It goes through Stripe's billing portal.

Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep Academic Weapon until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account drops back to Free. There is no cancellation fee and nothing is deleted.

When you buy a digital service at a distance you normally have 14 days to change your mind.

At checkout we ask you to tick a box confirming you want access to start immediately. If you tick it, you are agreeing that the service starts straight away and that you give up the 14-day right to cancel for a refund. That is a separate, explicit tick, and it is the only reason the waiver counts.

If you did not tick it, you have 14 days from purchase to cancel for a full refund. Email us.

Outside the UK and EU there is no automatic right to withdraw, but section 5 still applies and we would rather refund you than argue.

Email us and we will refund if:

• we charged you after you cancelled
• we charged you twice
• the service was materially broken for a sustained period of your subscription
• you are under 18 and subscribed without a parent or guardian agreeing

This list is not exhaustive. If something went wrong, tell us.

Your subscription goes into a past due state and you keep Academic Weapon for a short grace period while Stripe retries. If it keeps failing the subscription is cancelled and you go back to Free.

We will not change the price in the middle of a period you have paid for, and we will tell you before a change applies.

Email contact@fourtyfive.org from the address on your account, and say what you would like us to do. We will reply within 30 days and usually much sooner.
